GOS data described here were downloaded directly from
CAMERA.
The
Prochlorococcus research community is particularly interested in this massive metagenomic dataset
since
Prochlorococcus is one of the most abundant organisms in it.
At ProPortal, our goal for hosting GOS metagenomes is specifically focused on reporting reads
from the wild that are
Prochlorococcus, marine
Synechococcus and cyanophage.
